Gman Posted December 10, 2017 Report Posted December 10, 2017 I have a 54 1/2 ton with 230 flat head and 3 on the column. The truck has been sitting for 35 + years with the transmission laying in the floor board and I’m trying to put it back in with no mounting hardware included and no instructions. Is there some sort of return spring for the emergency brake mechanism? There has to be but again, I can’t figure out where it hooks up . When the lever is pulled something has to plug the cable back in. If anyone has a pic of this spring and where it connects I would sure appreciate it. Thanks, Gregg Quote
tanda62 Posted December 10, 2017 Report Posted December 10, 2017 This might help. The long spring connects to the Frame crossmember behind the transmission. Quote
Desotodav Posted December 10, 2017 Report Posted December 10, 2017 Use the search button in the top right corner of your screen and look for a thread called 'hand brake'. Tim (aka 48D) explains the e-brake in the second of his 3 video's in a post on that thread. 1 Quote
Gman Posted December 10, 2017 Author Report Posted December 10, 2017 Ah! No wonder I couldn’t find a place to hook the spring. They use a long extension piece. Thanks so much for the help Tanda62 Quote
Desotodav Posted December 10, 2017 Report Posted December 10, 2017 I had some made a while back but not sure if I have any left. Will post a photo when I get home from work later. Quote
