Branded Posted August 25, 2017 Report Posted August 25, 2017 (edited) My NOS temperature gauge I bought a few months back has failed me. When my engine is cold it reads 150 degrees, at operating temperature it is pegged. I believe the capillary tube must be leaking. Anyone recommend someone to make repairs. Los_Control Posted August 26, 2017 Report Posted August 26, 2017 There is a good howto article on making the repairs yourself, or is a member here that also does repairs and believe he also made the how to article. You might give it a try yourself, or read the article and see if instructions where to send one. http://www.ply33.com/Repair/tempgauge Quote

Expand From your description there is a possibility that the needle is loose and has moved . You will need to have the gauge in your hand and try to move the needle with your fingers to find out . If the needle is loose your can probably just push it back on at the correct position . Then test with a pan of boiling water . If the capillary tube was leaking your gauge would not show any increase of temperature at all when it is operating as the ether would be all leaked out . 3 Quote
