motorman1600 Posted May 26, 2017 Report Posted May 26, 2017 Hi, I have a 251 and ready to install pistons from sealed power. the pistons are 32np30 pistons from sealed power. They do not have any marking on the top to indicate which way is to the front of the engine. Does anyone know if these can be installed either way thanks Quote
dpollo Posted May 26, 2017 Report Posted May 26, 2017 If it is a solid skirt all the way around then they can go either way. Quote
Matt Wilson Posted May 26, 2017 Report Posted May 26, 2017 (edited) Some pistons have slots with little circular holes on one side of the piston. Not sure if yours do or not. I imagine these slots are meant to face one side or the other, but I don't know which side. Just thought I'd mention that, in case your pistons are mostly solid, but have these slots. Someone can chime in here to say which way those slots go, I'm sure. Edited May 26, 2017 by Matt Wilson Quote
motorman1600 Posted May 26, 2017 Author Report Posted May 26, 2017 Hey. Mine are solid all the way around. I am just putting them in. No way to tell. Quote

dpollo Posted May 26, 2017 Report Posted May 26, 2017 Slots go on the non thrust side (distributor side) Quote
motorman1600 Posted May 27, 2017 Author Report Posted May 27, 2017 Here's what sealed power says. I called them just to confirm what was offered here on the forum. Everyone was correct. The new style piston does not have a slot in it and the full skirt does not have a front or rear orientation. So I am good to go as planned. Thanks for your comments. Quote
Matt Wilson Posted May 27, 2017 Report Posted May 27, 2017 Hey, that's great feedback. Thanks for following up and letting us know. I have ordered the same set if pistons, so this is a help to me as well. 2 Quote
