Hi guys,

Been a little while since I last visited... been busy checking-up on parents, etc.

Not much new in my world...

Decided to wake-up "sleeping beauty" today, and drove the old '41 De Soto to work... now showing 102,300+ miles...

Hadn't run it for several weeks... had to crank it over for nearly 15 seconds, but it started and carted my carcass down to work... just like it always does... ;)

Won't be too many more car-friendly days here in NE Penna... soon the freezing bounty will descend from Heaven, and Penn DOT will be saturating the roads with Car-B-Gone...

Hope all is well with you folks here in the land of the flathead MoPar !!!

Hey Don,

I'll try to get some pics...

I'm dealing with so much stuff between work and family that I rarely get an opportunity to play with the cars...

After scouring the puss-spot that lurked beneath the trunk badge several weeks ago, it took another week to get it primed, then another several weeks passed before I finally got a chance yesterday to shoot some gloss-black on it from a rattle can... nearly two months from "scratch to finish coat" on a spot no bigger than a dinner plate. And we're just talking scratch & paint... no putty or levelling to smooth out the pits etc...

As for the big engine rebuild... that too is on hold...

I hope to make enough time to clear space in the garage to set-up a bench and drag that old Spitfire inside and tear into it...

But, for the time being, I can still slide behind the wheel of my 66 year-old MoPar, step on the starter, and enjoy a little "time travel"...

Mostly sunny and 60 degrees today. Guess I'll get Kate out of the garage for a bath, drive her around some, straighten out the garagebay, back her in, disconnect the battery and snug her down under her cover. I woudln't mind driving in the winter but there is so much salt being used that even on sunny dry days (which we will have about 20 of between now and April) the salt residue being kicked up is still a thing to be avoided. So hibernation is in order. Check the oil, fresh top up of gas, and some strategic placement of decon mouse pruf and she should be comfy.
