BIGBAND39 Posted May 8, 2017 Report Posted May 8, 2017 Two questions vintage Mopar fans....... 1. What from a 1940 Dodge would fit my 39? Looks like doors and glass would be the same. Hood halfs and fenders? Mechanically, I know everything is spot on. 2. Would any of my pre-WWII Dodge brethren be interested in any parts? Yes, I know it's a sin not to find a home to restore this but parts need to come from somewhere. :-/ Not purchased yet but considering. Quote
dpollo Posted May 8, 2017 Report Posted May 8, 2017 If the Dodge followed the same trends as the Plymouth , the only body part which is interchangeable is the hood ornament. Mechanically, the transmissions are different, In fact the 40 is a very different car. Quote
Andydodge Posted May 8, 2017 Report Posted May 8, 2017 If I lived close by I'd be interested in the whole car....fenders, headlight surrounds, badges, bumpers, etc............you can see by my Oz assembled 1940 Dodge how similar but different our cars ended up.....think Canadian Plodges with a difference.........lol............don't suppose the whole car would fit in a USPS padded bag?.......lol.............hope you get some serious offers.................. regards, Andy Douglas Quote
desoto1939 Posted May 9, 2017 Report Posted May 9, 2017 just checked my Hollander book and none of the metal parts such as hood doors fenders roof frame will not interchange also steering gearing no interchange. The 40 was a real change from the 39. I do have a 39 hood if you are interested. Live near valley forge pa. Rich Hartung Desoto1939@aol.com Quote
