opus6548 Posted July 24, 2016 Report Posted July 24, 2016 Does anyone have experience putting 41 Plymouth fenders on 47 Plymouth? Can it be done without too much fabrication? I know frames of those years are completely different. Thanks Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 24, 2016 Report Posted July 24, 2016 (edited) 41 has speed lines...matches front fenders...would look out of place on 47...not to mention the need to alter for the absence of the running board on the later model.. Edited July 24, 2016 by Plymouthy Adams Quote
opus6548 Posted July 24, 2016 Author Report Posted July 24, 2016 Thanks. Really like a 41 grill on whatever 40's Plymouth business coupe. Ladder frame I feel is a plus, the 47 is nearby and I know of a nice 41 front end. Wishful thinking. Would you have an opinion on whether a small block goes better into x frame or ladder frame? Quote
Don Coatney Posted July 24, 2016 Report Posted July 24, 2016 Small block is the 23" engine, big block is the 25" engine. Both can be made to work in your car. If that is not what you are looking for check out the HAMB. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 24, 2016 Report Posted July 24, 2016 41 grilles are hard to beat in the Plymouth lineup.....by small block I am assuming with the question to modified body lines you are not concerned with stock engine and thus your small may be in terms of the LA engine...you can fit about any engine you want in this nose but your narrow front end will make rad mounting a bit of a concern and then the issue of steering clearance and then inner fender mods..the list goes on...regardless of small V8 or big V8 or for that matter even the smaller yet modern V6 you can see a few bz coupe mods here: http://p15-d24.com/gallery/member/19-plymouthy-adams/ 1 Quote
