YukonJack Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 I was thinking about removing the trunk handle from my 47 Sedan. Has anyone done this and if you have what modern latch did you use to replace it. Pictures would be helpful if you have them. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 I installed my first latch from a 1991 Dodge Dynasty, use both the electric solenoid and the loop to lock onto..loop will need modified..HOWEVER I decided that should I have a electric battery failure, battery is in the trunk I will need an override...and I also don't have door handles anymore so getting into the trunck from inside the car would not be a good place to fit an emergency cable. So I opted for the combination of the the 91 Dynasty as it's lock cylinder matches my ignition cylinder, used the remote cable key actuator and motor driven latch from a LH platform car, 1993 model, and covered the key cylinder with the spring loaded cylinder..I kinda like it..the loop will need be made...You can modify a small exhaust clamp for this..very clean looking with the polished cover in place. This also allowed me to get rid of the license plate bracket. Send e-mail by PM will send pics. Quote
