ArtfulDodger
Working on what might be one of the last commercial daily working B1-H dually trucks. She's a beauty, but we need a few parts to keep her running. I'm assuming this is a B1-H Serial number T148 43379 with duals. Chassis and cab are really as close to perfect as we have ever seen! I'm looking for a (1) steering box (rebuilding would be great), (2) tie rod ends and tie rods if available (ideas for options are welcomed). (3) Also open to ideas on how to fit an inspectable parking brake (seems it was removed when the 350 chevy engine and drivetrain was installed). (a moment of silence for the last shocking revelation) .... Any help to keep her running is greatly appreciated! ggdad1951
we have a "classifieds" section where people have parts for sale and people can request parts. I'd advise checking that out and placing a FREE ad for the parts you are looking for. We try to keep parts requests off the main forum. thanks! wallytoo
shouldn't it just be deleted like last time? you know, to be consistent and welcoming to new members? and i'm not blaming the moderators for that, only the b*tchers.
Todd B
Would a B-1-F 1950 have the same front axle??
Todd B
also would the steering box be the same? Pictures of this dandy would be cool to see
wallytoo
if you have the serial number from the door post tag, it should also show the model on the tag. size-wise, i believe this is considered a 1.5-ton, but bob (dodgeb4ya) will have the answer on that. i've seen tie rod ends come up for 1.5-ton trucks on ebay time to time, so that is one place to check for those. don't recall seeing the tie rods themselves, though. wally
