PatS.... Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 This pic of my 1949 Chrysler WINDSOR was taken the same year that my current '49 Chrysler ROYAL was parked because of a broken valve. It sat until 2003. Quote
Don Coatney Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 Pat; Post a current picture with this cool old picture. Quote
eric wissing Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 That picture is so old, the rip in the sky hadn't even been fixed yet. Nice pic, No color yet? Simplier times, everything was black and white. Eric I 2nd Don's motion, lets see it today. Quote

John Reddie Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 Hey Pat, I had a '49 club coupe just like that one in your photo. It had the outside visor. I paid $100.00 for it in 1962. It had 100,000 miles on it but had been well cared for. I drove it another 100,000 miles after doing the valves and replacing the timing chain and timing gears. Mine was a nice medium blue with a maroon interior. These were nice smooth cars and one of Chryslers best looking models in my opinion. I'll post a photo of the one I had if I can find one. Good luck with yours. John R Quote
wldavis3 Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 Pat, Your car has some very cool accessories on it. I vote with the others -- more photos. Quote
PatS.... Posted July 11, 2007 Author Report Posted July 11, 2007 Unfortunately, this particular car rusted away to nothing and had to be scrapped in 1983 The one I have now will be a clone of the one pictured. I have many more pictures of this car which was a Windsor and my daily driver for many years. When I was 17, my buddy and I piled in it with $35 bucks between us and drove it 1000 miles from Calgary to Winnipeg. It was to be a 2 week holiday for me (his family lived there having moved from Calgary a few years earlier). I ended up getting a great job, girlfriend, and stayed for 3 years. Then drove the old Windsor home again. I have pics taken of it in '56/7 when my Uncle owned it. My mother was driven to the hospital in it to give birth to...me. My youngest brother was driven home from the hospital in it. The car was in the background of two families lives from new to 1983. The current '49 is a Royal. The only difference was the Royal had the Fluid Coupling and 3 speed standard and the Windsor had the M6. I did keep the sunvisor, grille guard, stainless window vents from the Windsor BUT they were all stolen in 1985 when the truck they were stored in was stolen Quote
PatS.... Posted July 11, 2007 Author Report Posted July 11, 2007 My mother and sister in a roadside picnic hut on the way to Fairmont Hot Springs for holidays in about 1966. Baby brother and middle sister in Drumheller Alberta about 1966. The paint on that car was amazing. It was never repainted, 20 foot deep shine even on the day it went to the crusher The Chrysler WINDSOR at Fairmont Hot Springs in 1956 My cousins in Fairmont Hot Springs 1956 Cousins at Fairmont Hot Springs in 1956 An artsy fartsy shot in Calgary in 1972 There are more old pics if interested. As I said, this car has gone to it's maker but will be recreated soon. Quote
eric wissing Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 Keep them coming, nice pics. It would be cool if you can remake a few of the photos with your new car. Eric Quote
