Make and year?

Here is an old photo taken in Sullivan County of NY.  

 

Can anyone tell me what year and make the car is?

Volvo p-40 ?

The photo is bad by lightning from the start, also resolution.

However, I cannot make it a Volvo anyhow.

Besides, as far as I know there was not model called P-40 in past...

Would not know for the present. There's V40, may be some variant(?)

In the 50's there were PV444 and PV544, below the early PV444

I don't know one Volvo from another, it was just a guess that sounded good to me.  How 'bout this,  a 1948 GAZ.

as best I can see..the grille is very low beneath the nose of the hood..that rules out a number of cars...Saab had a very low profile grill but the headlights don't quite fit for some of the cars of the estimated era...picture is not of the quality one can really make out detail of any kind..

Could be the elusive 1950 Rolls-Kinardly.

1946-48 Frazer? Or simply 1946-48 Ford? - the light may suppress some features from visibility.

Of European makes, I considered the below one, mid-50's Skoda 1200, but the windshield on the car in the photo is clearly taller - It's not Skoda.
