soth122003 Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 Had the same problem on mine, cracked ear on #6 and a hole in #1. Put an ad on this site for a manifold and got a few replies from members who went with dual exhaust and still had their old manifolds. Picked up an intake and exhaust for about 100.00. Only difference was the old ex man. had the exhaust port on the #6 and the replacement had it between 4-5, I believe, had to put a 2" extension from autozone in the exhaust pipe and PRESTO back on the road. CoronetGuy Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 I put a dual header from Moose on last year. Once I old manifold was out, I could see that somebody had welded a crack in it. Depending where the crack is, most people wont even see it so I wouldnt worry about looks just as long as its a good weld & doesn't leak (mine didn't leak) Quote
Branded Posted January 21, 2016 Author Report Posted January 21, 2016 I found a replacement from a member ( Thanks Sharps40), probably cheaper than I could of had mine repaired. Quote
Sharps40 Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 (edited) Well, bolted on pine boards and crossed fingers and 1.5 rolls of duct tape and a prayer that UPS don't play "Lets drop the heavy box just to see what happens." and I think ye'll be in business. Course, what they charge to ship, they oughta be holdin it in there lap and keepin it snuggly warm and cozy! Hard part will be deciding on natural patina or a buncha work that'll see the paint burn off in a year anywho! Luck to ya! Lemmie know when it arrives and that its whole and hale! Branded Posted January 22, 2016 Author Report Posted January 22, 2016 (edited) Rich The manifold arrived this afternoon, all is good. It's already made a trip thru the bed blast cabinet. Searching for a vender to buy a timing gear set from now. Local NAPA doesn't show a listing. Thanks again Dave Edited January 22, 2016 by Branded Quote
Sharps40 Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Dave, Yer a good man, sandblastin an exhaust manifold for a pretty finish. I wish ya luck! I never ever got one to look good....but then, I'm a mite lazy when it comes to prep work! I am super glad it arrived in good condition. Now the rust is off, look it over real close and make sure there ain't no hidden cracks. Its old but I think its good. Lemmie know, if its busted, we'll straighten up so you can keep moving forward. For now, I'm gonna hunker down and think about how easy its gonna be to see deer tomorrow from the stand with all this ice and snow we are supposed to get! Quote
Branded Posted January 22, 2016 Author Report Posted January 22, 2016 Calling for a fair amount of snow here also, looks like the east coast, Washington area is going to get hammered. Quote
