grady hawkins Posted December 15, 2015 Report Posted December 15, 2015 I replaced my D24 B&B carb with a new Holley universal Daytona Parts carb. Included in the shipment {not needed on my application) was a clamp adaptor which would clamp to the top of a B&B carb but then the top of the adaptor would accept a straight flat sided bottom of a air filter. See a picture at their web site www.daytonaparts.com Quote

How much did the carb cost and did it come with the adapter? BTW,am I the only one thinking that is a Holley 1904 Model like those used on all 6 cylinder Fords from 1952 to the mid-60's? It was even used on come GM inline 6's,as well as Studebakers. Quote
grady hawkins Posted December 16, 2015 Author Report Posted December 16, 2015 I only wanted to make any one aware that might want to mount a different air filter that did not need the original match for the MOPAE carb top. As I indicated in my post. it came with the shipment. As indicated.the carb was a universal appplication I have no interest in promoting the carb Just a FYI! Quote
46Ply Posted December 16, 2015 Report Posted December 16, 2015 I checked the link, but I can't find any pictures of the clamp adapter. Can you post a picture of it? Quote

Don Coatney Posted December 16, 2015 Report Posted December 16, 2015 I made my own adapters out of a couple of chunks of aluminum. Quote
Dartgame Posted December 21, 2015 Report Posted December 21, 2015 I bought one of those adapters from champion carburetor in Arlington Texas. There are practically no air cleaners with a 2 3/8 inch base, they are usually 2.5 inches. I cut some pieces of tailpipe and made spacers to bush a 2.5" opening air cleaner to the adapter, one ring fits so snug to the adapter there was no need to mechanically fasten it. The other I JB welded to the air cleaner base, it fit sung as well, but wanted to insure it would not move around. I could have welded it, but the metal on the base is really thin, I figured gluing would be okay. Works fine.. Quote
