We spent the last two days at "AMericruise". It was held at the State Fairgrounds in Lincoln NE....Unbelieveable the number of cars. I daresay the Desoto powered hot rod got way more attention than all of the high doller bowties and blue ovals that were parked around it. I was going to take a bunch of photo's but my battery went dead after 2 shots...Your in luck though as an outfit called "motortopia" was there taking photos of the cars and will be posting them on a website...www.motortopia.com ..You may have to wait a couple of days till they get them posted but it should be worth it. Anyway, here are the two I managed to take. The Chrysler Royal is a 1950..John...(yes, the girls are over 18)

John, I've been looking at your roadster for some time now, thinking how cool is that. Can ya give us a bit of a run down on how well it performs?

Well Mr. Bassman, I will say it is quick off the line and will wind out very well in all gears (350 turbo automatic)...It is a light car but handles the road well especially since I changed it cross steering this past winter. I put a different pumpkin in with 3.40 gears to replace the 3.0 that was in it before. It improved the acceleration and cruises at an easy 65 with no undo rpms. It will go much faster of course but really no need to...I really think I could up the rear end ratio to 3.5 without overrevving. I have holley 94's on it now for carbs and they work very well along with looking very retro, which was the whole idea of the car...I will continue to build cars as long as I can although I probably have more ideas than time left..A steamlined aluminum torpedo with dual chrysler inlines sounds fasinating to me...Youth, once revisited, ignored...John, the magnificent one

Motortopia seems to have good taste. This Plym is on their opening page. Looks as if a person needs a password to access the site.
