So we bought this tuck in late November of last year. As we were on our way to a Thanksgiving dinner my Girlfriend Kelly said hey look at that old truck over there next to that barn in the weeds. That brings us to today. After much work and the skilled hands of my Dad the 50 is back on the road.

This was the first trip where we were really depending on the old truck to get us somewhere and back again. We first thought about going to the local drive in but we opted for a drive to my sisters farm. We loaded up a cooler in the back and a extra can of gas (just in case) and hit the road.

We were not braking any speed limits but the trip went off without a hitch. The only thing I noticed was the brake lights stuck on once but that was an easy fix.

Congrats! That first trip is always a little suspenseful..mine was about 8 miles each way to the drive-inn ice cream place by the lake, truck worked great back and forth, and ran good the day we needed it for our wedding....sadly 2 weeks after that I blew the original 218 engine up in it.

It was about a 20 mile one way trip. We have an aftermarket switch on the brake pedal. The carpet we put on the floor was preventing the pedal from returning.

I think next weekend we may go to the drive in.
