DJ194950
Found this page(s) OL, can anyone tell if these casting numbers are the factory numbers that can be of assistance to forum members for parts ID, Or are they numbers used by the supplier as their parts numbers used to supply flathead parts only. If they are not of help I will delete this info so as not to create confusion. Thanks. Edited August 10, 2015 by DJ194950
Dave72dt
\I guess you could always check your block and head to see if the casting numbers match any on the list. \I suspect they are the casting numbers. They are probably not the part numbers used to sell them over the counter. As you can see there are several casting numbers for the applications. Using or selling any of the parts in the same section would ensure proper fit and operation.
DJ194950
The reason I started a search for casting #'s was a friend bought a (230") crank off a very nice guy with a 47 Ply. Club coupe and a very nice collection of 60's Cads, to Maybe use for future build of a 49 Ply. bus. cpe. He no longer intends to use a flathead and will but either a small or big block Mopar motor in it WHEN he finishes his other projects. In order to do a clean up and share-- he has two flatheads, I have two-all no plans for them now. So later this week we plan to find out just what is in our parts piles Identified as best as possible (with numbers) and post that info. Somewhere in the past I ran across a page with casting #'s (heads, cranks, etc.) and other info year by year for the flatheads from the earliest to the last built. As usual, I cannot find where I made a copy or added it to favorites, so I'm searching the best I can and also attempting to share what I do find without posting incorrect #'s. Thanks, DJ
