Discs on the front are an easy modification and only a little more work than getting the stock setup refurbished (which you should do anyway).  If you end up driving the car much, maintaining the discs will be easier.

And, why not "hot wire" the car or buy and install a new ignition switch, anything will do, just to get the car mobile while you're conceiving a plan of what to do.

Most of the braking is done at the front tires so drums on the back is OK. Even some modern cars have disks in front and drums in back.

Best advice I can give is to replace ALL the lines, steel and rubber, refurbish all the cylinders, either rebuild or sleeve or replace.
