Jim Shepard Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 (edited) I'd like to take an opportunity to publicly thank Charlie and Tim for showing up on Saturday to help/guide me along on the great differential leak caper. As everyone pointed out, it's not a very hard or complicated job; however, having never done it before, it was a little daunting for me. After pulling the hubs and discovering a leaky brake cylinder, I was primed for more serious issues to emerge. None appeared and everything went back together just like clock-work. We had coffee and donuts in the morning and pizza and beer for lunch. The only thing that could have been better is the weather. But, at least it didn't rain. I was going to add a few photos of the day's activities, but can't figure out how to do it with my new iMAC... Edited February 25, 2015 by Jim Shepard 4 Quote

48Dodger Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 (edited) It was great fun....Jim is a very intelligent, and articulate guy....reasons we've been friends since I first met him in 2007. The best part is he is a good student. The guy has a completely buildt 50 truck...a show winner, and yet he still wants to learn how to do stuff to it. Charlie and I kidded him all day about tools, grease, and donuts....and yet he remained humble and appreciative. He's no angel, but he is a friend of mine. lol 48D Edited February 26, 2015 by 48dodger 1 Quote
51Hemi Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 Great people, good food! What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Jim and Tim are great guys! Like my father in law used to say, working on old cars (and trucks) keeps me off the streets and out of jail :-) Tim you got me curious about the Carter YF carburetors on my truck, so I looked up the specs. They are about 200 CFM each. The same bore and venturi size as the original "Power Giant" carburetors in the picture http://www.moparmax.com/columns/magnante/vi_6-7.html It's a great set up for torque but I guess I won't be able to taking the thing out to Bonneville. 1 Quote
