maurice wade Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 I own a 47 p-15 special delux. I have never seen carpet in the front of any Plymouths. Did any cars have carpet in the front? How about the seat covering? What types of material was used? Was the color only in gray? My rear seat I believe is original and it is a stripe gray with a thin line of red. Can anyone direct me to a website that has info. on these car interiors? Thanks for any help. MW Quote
TodFitch Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 At least in the 1930s, the front just had a rubber mat. Carpet in the back. I think some of the interior and fabric information you are looking for is on David Maxwell's site at: http://www.angelfire.com/ca/bojeta/indexpage2.html He has done an award winning restoration. That car is one of the nicest I have ever seen. . . Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 27, 2007 Report Posted June 27, 2007 To my knowledge all the 46-48 Plymouths had a rubber mat in front and a horsehair carpet in the rear seat area, plus a rubber mat in the trunk. The upholstry was pretty darn cosistent with the grey/maroon pinstripe. Bottom edge of doors and end of front seat frame were maroon leather....or maybe leatherette. SMS Fabrics or maybe LeBaron--Bonney may have the correct material. Quote
