P12 Spark Plug Wire Lengths

I know that the wire lengths vary from 21" to 25" but can't find my list of what length to specific cylinders.  I understand the two are 21", one 23", one 24" and two 25".  Just want to get it right.

The distributor resides dead nuts in the middle of the engine between cylinders 3 and 4. If I were to take a wild guess I would place the short wires on the center 2 cylinders, the long wires on #1 and #6, and the other two on cylinders #2 and #5. But that is just my wild guess.

if you are in doubt and per instruction on about every box wires there is a note to the effect that says to remove one wire at a time and exchange it with the one in the box that is closest to the length...and as you have to go through the loom..pay close attention to the fact you have the right end going to the block and distributor..else you will have to remove and flip back around..

How much quicker does the spark get to the plug on the short wires???

Don, you hold the stop watch and the the spark plug end of the wire. I will crank the engine. You time the results, and report back :blink:

Thanks,  I don't have the luxury of replacing wire for wire and thought that there might be a description someplace.  I do have access to a reference car so I'll have to get out some measuring tapes and put 2+2 together.  Thank you all.  Have the Best of Holidays and a Safe New Year.
