mrwrstory Posted September 17, 2014 Report Posted September 17, 2014 Been away so I'm not current with this thread,.....and the issue may have been addressed. However, I will say again, scope out the welds. Doesn't matter 'bout domestic vs import steel as much as good welds. Did your stand show signs of use before you painted it? That should provide some comfort. I have a Chinese stand with good welds, for the Hemi, so I feel safe. I see in one of the pics where you could look at the back side of the weld. Check that out to see if there is weld material is "melted" all the way through. At any rate, stand back when you first load it and be ready to move fast when first working on an engine hangin out there in the breeze. Quote
Jocko_51_B3B Posted July 11, 2015 Report Posted July 11, 2015 (edited) I recently bought a one ton Delco stand from O'Reilly's. The only way I can hang my 218 on this stand seems to be to include the bell housing. But it seems like the whole assembly will be sticking pretty far out if I hang it that way. Is it normal to include the bell housing when hanging a 218 straight six? Is a one ton stand strong enough? I based my purchase on the fact that the engine weighs in at about 650 lbs (less than half the stand rating). Thanks in advance for any thoughts. Edited July 11, 2015 by glenn777 Quote
