Bingster Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 I saw a You Tube video about wood graining your own pieces with inks. It really looked pretty easy, really. Anybody try it? There's also a firm who makes film transfers you can use to wood grain parts. Quote
desoto1939 Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 I have used the grain-it method. The guy has a homeusers kit and it is very easy to do. But it will look good in your car but it will not be the great looking job that the professionals can do. But when you are talking 3-5k for an entire car and then the car is only worth about that much when completed does the expert cost make sense. The kit is easy to do and if you do not like what the grain looks like on the metal you can wipe it off and redo it again before it dries. Rich Hartung Desoto1939@aol.com Quote

40plyrod Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 (edited) I just woodgrained my dash using an ink method. I'm happy with the result and it was pretty easy and nominal cost. It's on my build thread. http://p15-d24.com/t...an/#entry304959 Edited June 20, 2014 by 40plyrod Quote
