desoto1939 Posted June 26, 2014 Report Posted June 26, 2014 In have an AC canister stylein my 39 Desoto that has the paper filter element that is a drop in unit. I can walk into any NAPA store and get their off the shelf NAPA Gold 1010 filter and do not have to order it. So if you have a problem see if one of these willfit your canister and then get two and always have an extra one on hand. Its not like we a changing the oil on these cars as often as we do our modern cars. which is about twice a year or mabye three times a years based on your mileage that you drive. Robert Horne Posted June 26, 2014 Report Posted June 26, 2014 The Frantz oil filter system takes a toilet paper element. That may least expensive way to go. You could always pickup a filter almost anywhere.... Quote

You could always pickup a filter almost anywhere.... May be cheaper but, which TP? Many to chose from these days-extra soft-extra strong-cheapest-most sheets per roll? Will the new size of the inner tube of the roll being larger work? This could be discussed forever, just like which oil to use has been!! DJ Quote
Robert Horne Posted June 27, 2014 Report Posted June 27, 2014 I believe the cheap type paper is what is required. If the large roll is too large, take some of the sheets off. Quote
