When I purchaded the 46 Plymouth Business coupe I am working on, it came with two rear bumpers that looked the same. Now I am ready to start the body work on the rear valance and notice the ones I got with the car are different than the one on my parts car. The one on the parts car is flat. Here are photos of the ones I got with the car. Is this the correct valance?

Also, does anyone know what the backet that was bolted to the valance/bumper would have been for?

It looks probably correct for the P15.  I would guess the home made bracket might have held a backup light.

I don't know if those wings on the ends are correct accessory items for a P15.  The shape of the bumper ends

behind the wings looks probably correct.  You might remove the wings so we can see.

Here's the gravel shield on my 47 Plym..........from the top.  The 3 lines are raised.- the larger areas

recessed.

Thanks for the info. It looks like they are correct for my car.

I wonder if a Plymouth offered two different rear valance/gravel shields? The parts car does not have the indentations or raised areas on it. Maybe Deluxe vs. Special Deluxe?

Maybe 42?  I think the 42's had those bumper wings similar to the 41.

I seldom see those bumper wings on 46-48 Plymouths.  The plain bumpers are really clean and smooth.

Here's the only picture I could find of a P15 with wings.  Apparently this fellow's chrome was not so good.

That "bedstead" rear guard is pretty scarce.  You see more of that style on the front only.

(convertible is not mine)
