soth122003 Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 Hi all, I'm new here. I just bought a 1948 P-15 Special Deluxe and rebuilt the Carter B&B carb. The kit did not have the check balls in it and my carb was missing the accelerator pump check ball. Does anyone know what size it is? I found a site that sells them but I not sure of the size. The check balls they sell are either 5/32nds or 1/8". Any help would be appreciated. Remember, A bullet may have your name on it, but a grenade is addressed "To whom it may concern". Quote
Tones52 Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 I ordered my kit from Mike's Carburetor who had posted that populear B&B video on You Tube.It came with the check balls. If you don't find what you need I can send you the one that came out of my carb. It's still good and I would have used it. Just send me a private message with where to send it. Tony Quote
soth122003 Posted March 7, 2014 Author Report Posted March 7, 2014 Hey Tony, Thanks for the check balls. Put them in today and BOOM BABY!!! Runinning like a champ. I forgot to measure them though. Oh well I hope not to need them for a long long time. Here are some pics of the car. Remember, A bullet may have your name on it, but a grenade is addressed "To whom it may concern". 3 Quote
Lumpy Posted March 8, 2014 Report Posted March 8, 2014 That's a very pretty car. Clean up that engine! Looks like the same radio that's in Lumpy, (D24) but maybe not, kind of looking at it from an angle. But, again, very nice looking car. It's a keeper. I sure like those grilles better than the D24 grille. ken. Quote
soth122003 Posted March 8, 2014 Author Report Posted March 8, 2014 Hey Lumpy, Thanks for the compliment. The engine clean-up is number 89 on the list of 100. while it may look rough, it purrs like a 20 year old Tomcat . Tones52 Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 Glad to help and as Lumpy said, your 48 looks great all the way around. My older brother's 1st car was a 48. I was about 7 when he got and I so loved riding around in that car with him. Looking forward to seeing the progress with yours. Quote
knuckleharley Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 Here are some pics of the car. 48 02.jpg48 03.jpg Man alive, but that looks to be a nice solid car! Quote
