Young Ed Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 So I believe you can swap the crank and rods from the bad block into the 218 block. Quote
55 Fargo Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 So I believe you can swap the crank and rods from the bad block into the 218 block. Yup, infact you can swap in rods and crank from 228, 237,251,265 also, the blocks are all the same virtually, with the exception of 1951 and later, internal by-pass for water pump. The Chrysler designated 6s had full flow oil filtration too.... Quote
B-Watson Posted January 23, 2014 Report Posted January 23, 2014 To all concerned it turned out that this T307 block is no good and now looking at repairing the original. The serial number is D19S2996C, the block is 25.25 and 3 3/8 bore. It is some what seized therefore it may be impossible. Can anyone give a year and displacement and any idea to loosen her up. I understand that this is a Canadian long block car engine? Any thoughts appreciated. rustrunner Posted January 23, 2014 Report Posted January 23, 2014 I have seen engines that have a small Number after the engine #, like 010, which I always thought was an oversize indication. In a junk yard I saw one engines with a spot ground flat to the right of the engine # that had a number stamped in it. It was a 3 digits and then below an F and 5 digits. like 060 F44690 Do not know what this implies? Dan Quote
