I guess the thing with cab one color, bed another color was a standard sort of deal????? Guess I haven't really paid much attention to the color scheme of these trucks.

Bob,

The beds were always black except for a few "Spring Special" models. I believe Jim's truck is the original colors. Mine is dark green on the cab and front end with a black box. I am planning to keep that color scheme. The only difference is that on mine the grill bars are color matched to the cab with a cream pin stripe. I like the stainless look, like Jim's, but I plan to keep mine painted like original.

An excellent job, Jim. It's a great looking truck.

Thanks for taking us through your journey. It's been quite a ride while we all watched you go through it.

I like the white Dodge letters on the tailgate. Looks nice.

Are you up to assembling a photo CD of all your pictures? I'll like to preserve your whole experience for all of our members along with notes and comments you have made. It really would be a big help for everyone here. Let me know if we can do this during the winter time.

And, let me know when we can video that trip to visit you know who. I'll bring the beer, or is it vdka?

Jim, again your truck looks great. I noticed you have one of those magnetic signs on the rear of your cab. I read somewhere that they hold condensation and can cause rust, might be something to watch out for. Brendan.

I have a magnetic american flag on mine, that gets rotated around every once and a while. No problems as of yet. I have also been surprised that it has stuck to all parts of my truck, so far. That is a good sign. You never know how much (or little) metal is under that glossy black paint, unless of course you did the restoration yourself.

I have been using the magnetic signs for years on my factory painted new trucks without any ill effects. Only removing them when going thru the car wash. I just went out an checked the signs on my 56 1 ton I sandblasted to bare metal and repainted several years ago and sure enough. Rust has started to come through the new paint. If you use these signs they should be removed when not needed. I left mine on for a couple of years. I wondered if this was happening but I wasn't worried about the paint because I hadn't done the final body and paint work.

Nice job JIM!!!. Dispite all the non- correct parts you found along the way. Maybe you should make a list of where we can get the correct parts like you have. That would be helpful. and again NICE JOB!!!

Jim, could we talk you into listing your great restoration in the DPETCA Member's Garage section of the web site? Maybe it would get others to do the same? And I hope you don't get tired of hearing this but ( That is one fine looking Truck ) Happy Holidays. Dutch

I'll be getting my new computer this week and shortly thereafter I will provide a CD/DVD with all 400 pics of the restoration to Bob. Maybe he can make it available to members...
