cerick305 Posted August 22, 2015 Report Posted August 22, 2015 Nice looking car! Sure you'll love it as much as I do my 47. Quote
kented Posted August 24, 2015 Author Report Posted August 24, 2015 Made it!!! Feels great to have the car footsteps away instead of hours Took some time today to go through some minor wiring. Did not get a picture of the after for the spark plugs. Found out today i have a rear differential leak Good news however the brake pedal is returning after being depressed but i am still going to go through all the 4 and clean/bleed the system Quote
kented Posted September 2, 2015 Author Report Posted September 2, 2015 No pics at this time of the wire tuck but ive ran some liquidtight in the fender and drilled a couple holes to keep it out of the bay Heres the front terminal strips for the high/low beams, right/left turn and running lights, yes i know there crooked, used some self tapper screws to mount Ive wired in dual filament connector with the matching bulbs. Changed the bulb to an amber one so running lights now look like this instead of white and the turn signal is a brighter version Did a test for the headlights and it all worked, just need to wire in permanently Quote
dodgeguy Posted September 8, 2015 Report Posted September 8, 2015 I see I am not the only one to fab up my own custom battery hold down LOL. My 47d24 either never had one from factory or the aliens took it for their own personal use. P.S. I blame them for everything .Every 2 years when it comes time to renew my plates they have taken my personal property tax receipt out if my glove box. I didn't think they needed plates for their craft. Quote

I'm sure they're the same aliens that have taken sockets from my set and bolts from the ziplocks. Edited September 9, 2015 by kented Quote
kented Posted September 9, 2015 Author Report Posted September 9, 2015 Hood is back on after about 1 1/2 years and finally got the hood ornament on as the PO misplaced it when I purchased the car. Found out radiator is too high! It is the same height as old however I was not paying attention to the multiple holes for mounting. Need to drill some new holes and should be set! Quote

kented Posted October 13, 2015 Author Report Posted October 13, 2015 Well now, there's a really good looking little pal. Be kind to him her. Dogs are people too. If 80lbs is little haha! Yeah we will for sure. He's an 11year old husky/Alaskan malamute we got from a local shelter. Giving him a nice retirement in the mountains. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted October 13, 2015 Report Posted October 13, 2015 He's a beauty. We had one for a granddog for a while. Gotta keep your eye on them, they like to take off on long walks. You are lucky to have each other. Quote

Jimmy7 Posted February 4, 2016 Report Posted February 4, 2016 (edited) Hi, Kent. I was talking yesterday to the mechanic where we got the Plymouth checked out before your friend drove it north and we were wondering how it was doing. Great to see the progress you're making on my old friend! I hope that you'll enjoy it for many years and miles to come. Here's a picture of my newest old car. And if somebody in your forum needs a grille for a '50 Plymouth there's one in my rafters. Jimmy7, former owner. Edited February 4, 2016 by Jimmy7 1 Quote

Hi Jimmy7; I would be interested in getting a '50 Plymouth grill. I have a '50 Suburban. Please PM me when you can. Thanks, Mike. Edited February 4, 2016 by LODI3QTR Quote
kented Posted February 23, 2016 Author Report Posted February 23, 2016 Finally got the drivers trim repaired. Looks brand new! Might need to spend a weekend polishing all the other bits to make them look as good. Bent rim is swapped to the straight spare. Oil change and waiting for some nicer weather and I'll finally get to take her for a shakedown 2 Quote
kented Posted February 27, 2016 Author Report Posted February 27, 2016 Insured it for the day. No major issues other than fuel gauge reading full when the tank was no where near. I'll need to pull the unit out of the tank to inspect. Looking forward to summer now! 2 Quote
Niel Hoback Posted February 27, 2016 Report Posted February 27, 2016 Nice how the colors agree in that picture. Pretty little car there. Nice picture. Quote
mm289 Posted February 28, 2016 Report Posted February 28, 2016 That looks great, congrats on getting it back on the road Paul. Quote

kented Posted May 17, 2016 Author Report Posted May 17, 2016 Update Insured the car and put about 200 miles on it with no issues in 30c/86f. Motorcyclist came up behind me and waved me over. Turns out my other rear rim had a pretty noticeable wobble at 50mph. Took the tire into the shop and found that it is bent and they can't balance it. Question is now who makes wheels that fit? I used my last spare rim on the other side of the car. I know the size is 15 but I don't know the width or back spacing. Bolt pattern is 5x4.5. I am running a 15 x 6.70 tire. Thanks in advance for the help! Quote
Johnny S Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 To get the exact rim (if you are using originals which it sounds like you are) you will likely need to grab one either off a donor car or find one on eBay ..... I've got one here in Colorado but not sure what it might take to ship to BC. John Quote
kented Posted May 17, 2016 Author Report Posted May 17, 2016 I was thinking of getting 5 new wheels from wheels ventique that way I can start fresh and be certain they are all straight. Close to stock I believe will be 15x5" with a 4" backspace and 5x4.5 bolt size. Was curious if anyone has gone this direction or has switched to a different type of wheel Quote
1946SpecialDeluxe Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 Just put 15x7 smoothies on my 46 Plymouth 2 Quote
