wizard12 Posted October 7, 2013 Report Posted October 7, 2013 Englers has 30's, 40's, 60's cars trucks. Starting to crush out now (Oct 2013) Owner is Bob. Update on Engler's Junk yard off I-81 in NE Penna, Bob who owns the place says they will be crushing starting now. Hundreds of 40's, 50's, 60's cars, most are beyond restoration, but you can easily kill an afternoon just walking around. Lots of cars with decent glass, stainless trim, decent bumpers, busses full of hubcaps and other parts. Closed all day Sunday, and also closed Wed and Sat afternoons. I would recommend calling first (570) 868-3990. Take I-81, Exit 159 Nuangola, head west 2-1/2 miles to 1768 Stairville Road. White garage on the left "Englers Auto Parts", stop there to sign release form and to get directions to the yard.Near the burg of Wapwallopen.Yard is located in Dorrance Twp., 2 1/2 milesoff Route 81 exit 159 (Nuangola exit).Hours: 8:30 am to 5 pm M, T, Th, F8:30- Noon Wed and SatMailing address:Englers Autos and Parts1768 Stairville RdWapwallopen Pa 18660PH: (570) 868-3990 Quote
knuckleharley Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 I bet he will have the front fenders and grille I need for the 63 Fury convertible I'm trying to sell. Hate like hell to spend any more money on it,but having the fenders and grille would make it easier to get rid of. Thanks for the tip. I just might call him tomorrow and see what he has. Quote

GlennCraven Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 (edited) Found an "explorer's" video of this salvage yard on YouTube. It's a couple of years old, but I'd bet most of the stuff hasn't moved an inch since. ... That said, there's a lot of cars that don't look like much, but a few that definitely do. And here's a thread at another site with photos from about three years ago, and some of the pics are missing. Still, you can see some things. Edited October 9, 2013 by GlennCraven Quote
Chuck51631 Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 This is a shame! I'll bet there are a lot of parts I could use. If they weren't so far away I would go there. They should have advertised on here or in Hemmings. Quote
wizard12 Posted October 21, 2013 Author Report Posted October 21, 2013 I put a sign out for him at Hershey Car Show last week at my spot on Saturday as it was pretty much a wash out there all week. Alot of people wrote the number down for him hopefully it will get people up there to buy something. Quote

GlennCraven Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Update on yard is now he is not crushing ouf for another 2 years. Says scrap prices to low right now. Could explain why the local salvage yard here has about 100 flat cars at the back of its lot and an idle crusher. They must be waiting until scrap metal prices improve. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 Today, here in the scrap melting heart of America, the sign said $220/ton for junk cars. Quote
GlennCraven Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 Today, here in the scrap melting heart of America, the sign said $220/ton for junk cars. That's a lot more than it was here a few months ago; $190 per ton. I don't know what it is right now. Quote
