Powerhouse Posted September 27, 2013 Report Posted September 27, 2013 (edited) Howdy all. My 39 Ply in need of alignment. The inside tread of the front tires have worn pretty badly. I replaced king pins recently and the tie rods are good. I have seen a string tied between two jack stands used to get toe readings but was wondering if I should take it somewhere. I asked my local reliable guy and he said he'd need specs in order to give it a try. He said it would cost around $70. Any ideas on how much it should cost and if it's worth having someone else do it? Edited September 27, 2013 by Powerhouse Quote
_shel_ny Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 (edited) Seems it should cost about $70 As a "do it yourself", how confident are you vs the cost of tires? Edit: modern alignment around here is like $89.95 Edited September 28, 2013 by shel_bizzy_48 1 Quote
Don Coatney Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 Alignment specifications can be found in the factory manual and in any MoTors Manual that covers the year of your car. Quote
jcmiller Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 (edited) There's a 1936-42 manual at http://p15-d24.com/files/file/67-1936-1942-plymouth-service-manual/ that has the specs (pg 32). Edited September 28, 2013 by jcmiller Quote
Powerhouse Posted September 30, 2013 Author Report Posted September 30, 2013 Thanks all. I should have mentioned I was at work and didn't have access to my book s at home. Thanks for the download though that was neat. I didn't know it was available on the site. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 30, 2013 Report Posted September 30, 2013 IF your local is a reliable alignment shop they would have these specs at their fingertips... Quote
