central52 Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 I'm cleaning out my gas tank. Is it necessary to take out the drain plug? And should it be removed every so often to drain out tank? According to the owner's manual, that is what is suggested. Ed Quote
greg g Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 Wouldn't hurt to pull the drain if only to loosen it and make it servicable. Did you already remove the fuel line from the tank??? Did you capture the small brass ferrul that goes around the lin in the fitting??? Usually folks are unaware of their presence and they head to uncharted parts of the garage when freed. they are about the size of a pencil erasoer and the line will not seal properly when reinstalled. Here is a link to a thread regarding them and a possible replacement if yo did not find and secure yours. http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=3507 Quote
central52 Posted May 27, 2007 Author Report Posted May 27, 2007 Greg, I don't remember if that ferrule came out, or if it had one. But I will go on that website you mentioned. Thanks, Ed Quote
