pflaming Posted July 20, 2013 Report Posted July 20, 2013 I hate to show my ignorance but what is the genesis of the blog and what then is a blog? Is the term an anachronism? Quote
P15-D24 Posted July 20, 2013 Report Posted July 20, 2013 Blog: Noun a personal web log, shorten to Blog. (weB LOG) A web site on which an individual or groups of users record opinions, information on a regular basis. Think of is as a public online diary or journal. Blogging: The term blogging is used as a verb to refer to the action that is performed by a person when they make a post to a web log or a blog. I think they have gained a huge amount of popularity as they are an easy way to "publish" on the web without having to know the technical details of creating web pages. Definitely not an anachronism, born in the internet age. Quote

pflaming Posted July 21, 2013 Author Report Posted July 21, 2013 Robert: One ring was to reach the operator, many continuous rings was for emergency. I lived in the Nebraska Sandhills, so many rings usually meant a praire fire started by lightning. Our ring was one long and two shorts. We could tell who was calling whom by the length of the rings: Oh Mabel Schmidt is calling Lucille Farmer and that meant a LONG conversation. This was our phone. Quote
