A close friend of mine bought this beautiful 1947 Lincoln Continetal Covertable about two weeks ago and this past weekend our club put on a timed race and I got to be the copilot for this rig.  First of all it has a V-12 flathead with a single two barrel carberator.  It seemed to be underpowered and was told that alot of owers have kind of hot rodded these old rigs with dual carberators and other speed equipment.  It has a two speed overdrive rear end and so its interesting to see it shift in every gear.  It kind of rides like a new car with nice suspension (Interesting as it came out that way).  Room inside is kind of tight and the back seat would sit maybe two people in confort.  But it is a looker and I would love to have a Lincoln coup this vintage not a convertable as I just prefer an enclosed car.  Anyway just fun and not very ofter do I get to ride in a 50,000 dollar car from the past that reminded me of the old Las Vagas days.IMG_0571-001_zps9bcfb399.jpg

This interested me because last fall I was conversing with a seller in the Oakland, CA area about a similar vehicle. It was complete. He wanted $5,000 for it. Then I found the 53 convertible. That fancy FORD would have been fun. It had a 12 cylinder engine also. I didn't know the interior room was so small. That ride must have been fun.
