Bob_Koch Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 From time to time I write Dinah Bunn, Don's wife and ask about his health. This is the latest note I received. I had sent her some information about the Dodge Pilot-House club and also a calendar which explains her reference to a publication. I thought others would want to hear of Don's present condition since he is so significant as an author of many Dodge books. Last September I had to put Don in a nursing home. It has been 8 years ago now since the dreaded diagnosis of Alzheimer's. It is such a sad disease!! He no longer knows who I am or any member of our family. He does not remember writing books or anything about trucks. He is still in good health except for his mind. Thank you for the subscription to the publication. I bring it to Don at the nursing home and he will sit with me and look at the pictures. To this day Don still receives phone calls and letters from people that have purchased his books. I do call them and write them back to let them know the situation. Thank you again for your care and concern! Don certainly is a very special person! Keep in touch, Dinah Quote

Alshere59 Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 When his time does come I hope he is carried in one of the trucks he contributed so much to. A very sad disease to take so much from you and your loved ones. Quote
