Don Coatney Posted April 12, 2013 Report Posted April 12, 2013 I reground my cam and set them cold at .014 for both. Have not touched them in over 40,000 miles. 1 Quote
John-T-53 Posted April 12, 2013 Report Posted April 12, 2013 Lookin' good! Nice pics on your blog. Do you have any pics and more info on the shims you made for the valve springs? I couldn't see any on top of the retainers...you must have put them between the springs and block? For the piston being .015" proud of the block, you should be safe - I think the head gasket is at least twice or three times as thick. I set my valve lash an extra .001" at .011 and .015 cold, and still had to tighten it up a bit after the engine got running at first. I decided to set the exhaust at .013" for a little quieter operation, since I have OD and don't run any higher than 2200 rpm hardly ever. (Note: specs for the same motor in passenger cars is a lil' tighter - I think at.008" and .012") Quote
pat lehmann Posted March 8, 2016 Author Report Posted March 8, 2016 Hey Guys, I've been back at it on my truck and I'm doing the brake system. I bought a new master cylinder and I'm wondering what fitting I need to come off the end of it? There isnt much room there and it needs to turn. I must have scraped or misplaced the original MC. Any help would be appreciated. I'll have to put up some pictures of my progress. Also my original fuel tank is in pretty rough shape (holes rusted through in various places. I was going to cut it apart, clean the inside, patch the holes and line the tank, but it might be more cost/time effective to just put a new tank in) any body make a repop or replacement of simular dimensions? (I havent done much searching on that yet) here is a link to my blog with a few... http://donorcycles.blogspot.com/2016/01/dodge-duck-dip-dive-dodge.html Quote
minicooper Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 (edited) Dodge Central of Michigan as well as others carry fuel tanks, I believe. You might check Andy Bernbaum too. https://dcmclassics.com http://www.oldmoparts.com/parts-fuel.aspx Edited March 8, 2016 by minicooper Quote
