Qu'est-ce que c'est ca?

Too nice a car to ask in English... ;)

1942 DeSoto .... Super rare especially being a convertible

Also has a factory side view mirror I'd like to find for our 41!

The car is superb. I'm always amazed that newer cars come out with features that older cars already had. I had a 36 Chevy pick up with interior door handles that were the same as (I don't remember the exact year - but early) a Corvette. I also think, if my poor old failing memory serves me, that the Cord also had hiding headlights. My Plymouth has a starter button - I have a Mini Cooper that starts with a button. What do they say "Everything old is new again."

Yeah me too, Joe. And one for the passenger side also, while we're at it. This thing just floored me when I first saw these pix. It's also got the optional steering wheel hub cigarette case. I kid you not!

You're right about the headlights on the Cord Don, and if my increasingly porous memory serves me, it was the first  American car to be so equipped. One of my favorite features on our P15's and D24's is that starter button. Here's lookin' at you, kid! ;)

Where did you take those at? I spot an airflow and another convertible! I can't get over how nice that 42 is...

These aren't my pix, Joe. I found them on the web. They were shot in Saint Joseph, Michigan at the 2009 National DeSoto Club Meet. The glamorous style of this car is increased considerably by the optional "Fifth Avenue" trim package. Absolutely stunning, innit?

Here's a slideshow of some great pix from that event.....
