Don Coatney Posted April 4, 2013 Report Posted April 4, 2013 And depending on which state you are located in.........to pass inspection ........... if they are there............ they must work........... and must be controlled independently from the headlights. Must work. That is interesting. Is that true of all accessories? If you have dual antennas do both of them have to work? Dummy spotlights? On my P-15 my parking lights do not come on when the headlights do but on new cars the parking lights do come on with the headlights. Would that be a problem? Quote

Would that be a problem? when I was in Virginia lights had to work, and be controlled independently from the headlights. I'm pretty sure that is true in NY as well. I would suspect that dual antennas as well as a radio, gps, cig lighter, ipod, cell phone, or boom box not working would not be cause to fail an annual safety inspection. Dummy spot lights.............. if it looks like a duck............ it better walk like a duck. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted April 4, 2013 Report Posted April 4, 2013 fog light should be wired to only operate with the low beams only... as in power from the low beam side of the dimmer switch to a separate switch for the fog lights..this separate switch will energize a relay for the fog lamps and thus keep current off the dash switch and only energize when in low beam..switch to high beam the fogs go off go back to low and the lights are back on...this is how they should operate..
