After doing some searching on here, I have seen a lot of useful information on rocker and floor repair.  From the looks of it, with my not having any experience in this area, it seems like a job that would be better suited for a professional.  Does anyone know someone in the New England area that does a good job with rust repair?  I know about Auto Rust Technicians in Cranston, RI, but I have heard mixed things about their work and they are pretty expensive from my previous experience with them. Does anyone have any suggestions?  Any idea how much a few floor patches and some inner and outer rocker repair should cost?  I know this thread is kind of useless without pictures, so I'll try to supply some tomorrow.  :)

locate a local car club..join..get to know some members..often they can work a quick fix on rockers and floors at a reasonable price compared to shops with overhead...sad part is that when farming out it is costly and sometimes you don't get exactly what you pay for..it is good you shopping around..I have no experience with your area but find most clubs have folks that will work a small project on the sly..or at least can point you toward the better places to make inquiries...good luck

Thank you for the advice!  I haven't found any Mopar clubs locally for this vintage, but I will keep looking.  One of the big reasons that I'd like to find someone to do it on the side is that I'd like to learn to weld.  It would be great to pay someone to do it and teach me along the way.  We'll see how much I luck out on this one.

club does not have to be Mopar related to find a welder....some areas have clubs that are not model/make specific but more in the "era" of car owned...finding a guy willing to teach welding and doing the work at the same time may be a bit more than you can expect to find...local tech college will teach welding through night course maybe...not trying to be smart but let your fingers do the walking...make a few phone calls about the education center your area..hit a cruise in or a local show/swap meet...heck next time you see an old car..follow him and if he stops at a Sonic or like venue...introduce yourself, strike up a conversation

Look for an independently owned, smaller shop.  These guys (typically) that have been in business for a while, tend to do decent work.  The price might be a little less...The body guy that did my rockers had a sheet metal guy fabricate them.

Thanks for all of the advice.  I'll have to wait until it warms up a bit in order to spot some classics, but that's the route I will take.  I'll also call a few local shops and see if they can point me in the right direction.  All good ideas.   :)

It looks like I'm about an hour away from you.  If you want to bring it here, we could work something out.

Thanks, Moose!  After seeing some of your manifold work, it would definitely be interesting to meet up.
