cornwall classics Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 Can any one please let me know if they have used RockAuto.com for spares, i have a 1947 desoto 3 window coupe (profile pic) a 1948 desoto 4 door sedan a 1948 dodge 5 window coupe and a 1946 dodge halfton pickup and just wondered if they were reliable on parts as they do seem to list quite a lot of parts and shipping seems very resonable as im in England ? dezeldoc Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 (edited) Yep use them all the time as does several other members, no problems at all and pretty good prices most of the time. If you search on line you can find discount coupons for 5-10% off. Sometimes a member will post up the current code. This month it is 1308093710695946 expires on 3/31 5% off. Enter the code in the "How did you hear about us" line of the shopping cart. ONLY enter the number and hit the apply button and it will update your total. Edited January 30, 2013 by dezeldoc Quote
cornwall classics Posted January 30, 2013 Author Report Posted January 30, 2013 Thanks so much for that, i can now order my parts up and get back on the road. cheers Graham. Quote
falconvan Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 I've been using them more and more; hard to beat their prices and they ship quick. They were $25 cheaper than anyone else on my hydraulic clutch slave/master cylinder assembly for my 51. Quote
DutchEdwin Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 I live in Holland and have used them on 3 shipments on my 55. All shipments were good quality. Once had the problem that they sent the wrong part. Because we live on the other side of the pond, sending the item back is no issue because of the high cost. They did understand it and did sent the right part without claming the wrong part back, with no charge of anything. Quote
plymouthcranbrook Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 (edited) The only thing to be careful of is they have a 30 day window for return. I missed one on a belt for my daughter's car by 5 days and had to eat it.(they sent the wrong one, didn't matter) Edited January 31, 2013 by plymouthcranbrook Quote

48mirage Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 I often use RockAuto as a research tool to find makers and part numbers. Some times I find that they will try to fill an order from multiple wharehouses and when they do the shipping charges rise pretty fast. When that happens I will use someone like Amazon to price some items and have found on a couple of occasions that if it is an order with multiple items I can save a little $ by splitting the order between RockAuto and Amazon. Saved my about $20.00 when I did a disc brake conversion. Quote
