pflaming Posted January 6, 2013 Report Posted January 6, 2013 Can this product be used to protect the inside of a fuel tank? Quote
Apittslife Posted January 6, 2013 Report Posted January 6, 2013 I personally have used the original POR15 inside of a fuel tank & didn't have any problem. Not sure about the Prime & Paint type? Quote
plymouthcranbrook Posted January 6, 2013 Report Posted January 6, 2013 I used their special product to seal the inside of my 52's tank 10 years ago and so far all is well. I imagine that they still make it. Quote
pflaming Posted January 6, 2013 Author Report Posted January 6, 2013 (edited) Prep and Prime (not prime and paint) is an ACE Hardware product at 1/4 of the price. The printed material on POR 15 and Prep and Prime is identical but not the price. I have a nice Gerry Can I want to treat so will put a pint or more of the product in the can and give it a treatment. edit: I steam cleaned the inside, then rinsed it out with some gasoline, the treated it with the prep and prime. I let it dry for a day then rinsed with gas again. It was really coated nicely, with a good even coat. So I trust it will work fine. Edited January 8, 2013 by pflaming Quote
