I am looking at getting at buying a small (5-20 gal) media blaster to use on my B4B. I have been getting mixed reviews on "siphon or pressure" and what make works best for the money. I know that high dollar units with large compressors work best, but I am not looking to start a restoration shop - I just want to work on my own stuff.

What do you folks recommend?

both have a use...siphon is great for that quick hit and the pressure pot will be useful for overall large panel working.

I will give you my findings ont he pressure blaster..use the sand flow valve to cut sand flow when stopping your blasting if even for a minute to rest, reposition an item etc..reason is that if you use the deadman it will plug the entire line with sand and you have to clear the sand out and that is a big waste of sand and your time. I have sandblasted entire cars and hoods etc with my pot blaster and control my pressure, sand flow and such and have never warmed a panel let alone come close to warping one. double taping areas with heavy cardboard and duct tape prevents egress of sand...protects areas from accidential damage...recommend that you construct a hand held deflector to block sand when in and about the taped areas for further protection...did my entire car in the back yard with less than 21.00 of media bought and still had 50% slightly used gathered back into 5 gallon buckets when the job was done
