jcmiller Posted October 18, 2012 Report Posted October 18, 2012 I bought some larger parts for my '42 Plymouth from a guy in Grand Rapids. He's having a hard time getting it all packaged up to ship and shipping is going to be rather pricey. Please send me a PM if you're on your way from that area to Portland, OR or Boise, ID and willing to take some parts for a reasonable price in the next few months. The parts are the piece of sheet metal that lives under the front bumper on '42s, the "scoop" or pan that it is connected to and that connects near the radiator, and a large piece of trim for the grill. Thx. Quote
Mark D Posted October 18, 2012 Report Posted October 18, 2012 Have you tried this? I've heard several success stories. http://www.shipgreyhound.com/ Quote
mrwrstory Posted October 18, 2012 Report Posted October 18, 2012 Have you tried this? I've heard several success stories.http://www.shipgreyhound.com/ I've had good luck with Greyhound too. They are a little more lenient re packing and less costly on odd sized parcels. Quote
old-idaho-iron Posted October 19, 2012 Report Posted October 19, 2012 I hate to be the sour apple here, but greyhound has "lost" a set of rear fenders that I had shipped for my 41. Don't ask how or why but that is there story. How you lose a box that big is beyond me. So I guess it's 6's and 9's! Quote
48ply1stcar Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 I had four fenders, hood and trunk lid shipped from Ohio to Minneapolis. I don't remember the price but it was resonable. Quote
jcmiller Posted October 23, 2012 Author Report Posted October 23, 2012 Thanks for the Greyhound tip. I tried getting a quote through their website but couldn't get it to work and got frustrated with it. We're just going to use UPS. Quote
