RattlesnakeDaddy Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 from Agape. they fit very well. picked them up from the customs office today, painted them and put them on. i am not shure about the additional chrome. maybe i will remove it. Quote
Uncle-Pekka Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 Congratulations 'Daddy, The skirts look like million dollars. (I shouda bought mine from Agape as well, but, being cheap, I settled with fiber glass by Big Jim's... They fit poor and are nightmare to paint.) Where did you got the extra chrome trim? They do bring about a hint of '42 Chrysler... Quote
Bingster Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 That chrome trim looks great! Quote
RattlesnakeDaddy Posted September 4, 2012 Author Report Posted September 4, 2012 thanks. the chrome is 1" self adhesive trim. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 A nice look and different.........does remind one of the 1942 trim. Quote
40P10touring sedan Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 Those look great...wouldn't change a thing, myself. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 though I got my skirts second hand they were never mounted..they do not come from Agape.but from a competitor..for the price I got them for I cannot really complain much..but like the one Pekka mentioned, they had move waves than the US Navy..took plenty of blocking and such to get them to look decent with a coat of primer...they may eventuallly make it onto one of the P15's..now that I have them not quite that hot on them..lol Quote
RattlesnakeDaddy Posted September 5, 2012 Author Report Posted September 5, 2012 thank you guys. i think i will keep the chrome. here´s a better pic: i also made new interior. look at my arm rests :-) the blue parts will be painted red. the actual color of the car is a dark metallic grey. it goes to the painter next month. i am not a hot rodder but i like working on the car. i´m a fan of mild customizing too, but i take care that every modification is redoable and that it is possible to go back to a nearly original condition. respect to the old cars is an important thing... 40P10touring sedan Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 Questions, oh so many questions! -The armrests...you make those?...I'm missing one for my '40 plymouth so I might just as well make or find two. -What sunvisor is that? I just recently aquired a fulton 800 for mine. -Love the spots...I keep thinking dummies for mine since I really don't want to put big holes in the car. I want the "look" of them, not the actual function. -Like the interior...red and black...nice. What's the headliner?{I'm in the delicate process of trying to pick out interior and exterior colors...not so easy as I 1st thought!} HOK pearl flatz red or blue with a white interior seems to be my current liking... ...can we see the engine...bet you didn't leave that alone... RattlesnakeDaddy Posted September 6, 2012 Author Report Posted September 6, 2012 yes. i made the armrests. it took only 15 minutes and it´s easy to do. two pieces of wood. i can mail you detailed pics if you want. i don´t know anything about the visor. bought it from forum member highpockets. it is old and has a serial number stamped on it, but no manufakturer mark. the spots are original unity spotlights. i also did not want to cut holes in the car, but do not like the dummy spots. so, i´ve cut the handle of the spotlights and use them as dummies. the seats and headliner are made by a professional upholstery company. the seats are black leather, the headliner is grey. the engine is original except for the color. it is red. the only mod is an open K&K air cleaner originally made for a PT Cruiser. choke and hand throttle are not installed. i can not decide if the exterior color will be a flat grey or shiny black. the car was frame off restored some years ago (not by me). here´s a pic of the engine: Quote
