Hood Lock Striker Question

Can anyone confirm that the hood lock assembly, the "triangular" shaped plate that bolts onto the body sheetmetal and the that the hood striker "pointy" thing pushes into are the same parts from 1941 thru to & including 1948(at least)?.

The expansion spring that fits under the hood lock assembly on my 1941 Plymouth has "sprung", lol........I have tried to find a replacement over here in Oz without success so far. The only ones I have been able to find are either too long or too short, either way they do not have the right tension either. the correct one was 1.75" long, 5/16th in diameter........anyone know of an exact replacement?.........lol.........are the springs the same up to 1948?.......thanks, andyd....btw this is the spring that fits UNDER the lock assembly, that pulls the sliding catch onto the hood pointy thing....... NOT the large 1" diameter one thats on the hood........andyd

The plates arent the same but the springs are. The 36-48 master parts list shows it as a hood locking bolt spring part # 906068 fitting 41-48.

You know I might have one somewhere. I think the hood latch from the crash is still sitting in the junkpile.
