Joe Flanagan Posted April 27, 2012 Report Posted April 27, 2012 I've looked through my manual but can't seem to find any pointers on this. Is there a trick to getting the lock cylinder out of the door? I have the interior panel off and can see the cylinder from the back but it's not clear to me how it comes out. Thanks. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted April 27, 2012 Report Posted April 27, 2012 Joe..I beleive the 49 was the first for the sliding release...look to the rear edge of the door for a slot about 3/8 inches by 3/16 it may well be covered by your door seal..it will be immediately adjacent to the lock center...insert a screwdriver and catch the lip of the sliding latch, move the lip toward the rear of the door..it should move approx. 1/4 inch and release the lock cylinder...do lube the lock slide first if you can... 55 Fargo Posted April 27, 2012 Report Posted April 27, 2012 Yup, same kinda deal on my 55 truck, very convenient, as compared to seized screws on my 47, only right door on truck has lock, that is strange...... Quote
