epix1718 Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Visited the Autorama Exhibit yesterday in Detroit and spotted 2 Plymouths, a 47 and a 49. 47: The 49 Quote
Don Coatney Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Did the 49 have a T-5 transmission? Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 (edited) Thanks for the pics. I'm sure there were lots of nice cars there. I wonder what model the trunk handle on the blue coupe is from..... probably older. A bit different treatment. And......those wire Chrysler wheels add a lot to even a fourdoor sedan.....IMHO. epix1718 Posted February 27, 2012 Author Report Posted February 27, 2012 Did the 49 have a T-5 transmission? Unsure, I just snapped the picture of this one instead of checking it out up close like the blue one. Quote
Don Coatney Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Unsure, I just snapped the picture of this one instead of checking it out up close like the blue one. I have seen that car before (Detroit 2008 POC meet) and spoke with the owner. He sells T-5 "kits" but I dont recall if he has installed one in that car. Quote
LAKOTA169 Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 The '49 and the '31 belong to Paul Curtice. He bought the '49 last summer. Quote
48P15Annie Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 Those were sharp cars! I was also quite fond of the 1957 Savoy that was in the basement Quote
old rat 49 Posted February 28, 2012 Report Posted February 28, 2012 Miss going to that show each year. Mid 70's taking a customer's car down the night before show and snowing like crazy; 6 - 8 inches of fresh. Trailer tongue was sitting rather high on truck I was using. Only doing about 25 mph and slowed down for intersection and his car passed me and came to a nice safe stop in the snow. Never assume that someone else chained the car down or did it correctly. I just jumped in and drove away without checking it myself do to the weather. Oops ! Quote
