greg g Posted February 3, 2012 Report Posted February 3, 2012 The engine is two inches longer, and the length is forward of the rear motor mounts so the radiator needs to be moved forward and the front crossmember might need to be notched. You will also need to make some accomodations fo a different sifting mechanism. And you may need to change or modify the oil pan and oil pump pickup. Not saying it can't be done but there is more to it than just bolting stuff in. Quote
stamierdodge Posted February 3, 2012 Author Report Posted February 3, 2012 well thats what i was hoping i wouldnt hear. thank you for the post. guess ill hold out for a LA small block!!! Quote
Reg Evans Posted February 3, 2012 Report Posted February 3, 2012 Where is the engine located since it sounds like you are going to pass on it? I have a truck it would drop right in to. Quote
greg g Posted February 3, 2012 Report Posted February 3, 2012 Your small block will need to sit about 2 inches to the pass side to clear the steering box un less you can locate the up and over style exhust manifolds that were used for the same reason in later cars. Quote
