hey guys i have been a creeper on this site for awhile due to my 48 being on the back burner. until i found a 265 and auto 2 speed out of a 53 chrysler on craigslist. he wants around 250 and it all came out of a running driving car. i bought my plymouth sedan minus motor and trans so im needing to know what might be needed for this install. any help is great if it fits i need to go get it!!!!!!!

The engine is two inches longer, and the length is forward of the rear motor mounts so the radiator needs to be moved forward and the front crossmember might need to be notched. You will also need to make some accomodations fo a different sifting mechanism. And you may need to change or modify the oil pan and oil pump pickup.

Not saying it can't be done but there is more to it than just bolting stuff in.

Where is the engine located since it sounds like you are going to pass on it?

I have a truck it would drop right in to.

Your small block will need to sit about 2 inches to the pass side to clear the steering box un less you can locate the up and over style exhust manifolds that were used for the same reason in later cars.
