OldDad67 Posted December 28, 2011 Report Posted December 28, 2011 I talked to one of the local spring rebuilders and they said I could have my original rears rebuilt and they would add teflon bumpers so the springs will slide eaiser and give a better ride, much like the Posie springs for older Chevy's. My question is has anyone here gone this route or am I going to be the first? Any info appreciated. Quote
Adam H P15 D30 Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 Might be easier and cheaper just to order them from Posie. They are a bolt in and new material. Quote

Okay, I'll bite: Does Posie's make a narrow spring for our cars? I haven't checked his site in a couple of years, but back then the narrowest he supplied was 2 inch. Marty Quote
JohnTeee Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 (edited) I had this done six or seven years ago. Have not put a LOT of miles on the springs, so hard to compare it to before. No problems. Funny thing was, I got the old steel wraps back - hmm, maybe they asked if I wanted them back . . . don't remember anymore. Also put new front coils and new shocks all the way around. Front end had been bottoming out on bumps, so that was the biggest change I noticed. Cheers! John Edited December 29, 2011 by JohnTeee addendum Quote

I can get the springs modified for less than $150.00 for both and no shipping charges involved. Quote

What I am not sur of is if they make stock height springs. I think they do but I got the lowered ones. Quote

I'd be curious about them as well. Right now I have 1-1/2" lowering blocks on old stock springs that are a little worse for wear, and wouldn't mind replacing them. Check my profile picture for what it looks like now. Marty Edited December 29, 2011 by martybose added thought Quote
Adam H P15 D30 Posted December 29, 2011 Report Posted December 29, 2011 (edited) They are flatter and the eyes are reversed. Got me about 2" lower with no blocks. Slightly lower than you profile picture. LOVE THE WHEELS!!!!!!! No pictures yet, car is apart again. They really are NEVER done are they? Edited December 29, 2011 by Adam H P15 D30 Quote
