Hey, Don't razz those D50's!

I had a 1979 D50 Sport and put 280,000 miles on it. I drove it every day. I did 2 heads and 1 new complete engine. It had the best brakes-1" thick solid front rotors, never did reline the rear brakes! It had the baby 904 auto trans that never failed. Body hardware was 100% . Radio always worked. Suspension was tough too and it had power steering.

The wax choke carb was a problem after 140,000 miles-manual choke after that.

The weak spot on them was the 2.6 engine and choke on the Mikuni carb.

Loved that truck as it was so easy to service. I always kept it up. Sold it with a perfect orange and flat black body and matching seats that were also in excellent condition.

2 weeks later it was totaled by a drunk.

The Sport D50 had all the options on them.
