joenailer Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 Hey, just getting started on the suspension to make it road worthy and need to replace the rear leaf spring hangers, both the "C" shaped hanger bolt and the spring hanger (T110). cant seem to find the one pc hanger bolt. any clues? part #? Many Thanks in advance Quote
Mike Aubin Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 You can get both from Roberts Motor Parts http://www.robertsmotorparts.com/truck_parts.asp?Action=search&c=Trucks+-+Suspension+%26+Drive You want part numbers T110 & T44 Quote
joenailer Posted December 15, 2011 Author Report Posted December 15, 2011 I looked at T44. looked more like a leaf spring shackle bolt. I'll call them this morning. thanks Quote
joenailer Posted December 20, 2011 Author Report Posted December 20, 2011 So, got the parts but the question is what to replace the rivets with. very tempted to take G8 washer head hex bolt and "shape" it to look like a rivet and bolt them back in. no real way for me to use rivets. Quote
Young Ed Posted December 20, 2011 Report Posted December 20, 2011 My spring hangers at the rear of my 46 frame have been bolted on with grade 8 bolts for about 10 years now. Make sure you get as big a bolt as possible for the hole. Personally I wouldnt try to shape them. Quote
joenailer Posted December 20, 2011 Author Report Posted December 20, 2011 I can grind them to shape with no issue and maintain the strength. the bolts I have in mind have a huge one piece washer and hex head combined. should wind up looking just like a rivet. Quote
